Tom and Jerry

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar (or more to taste)
  • 1 Tbs brandy or vanilla for the batter, plus brandy to taste (optional)
  • 6 cups milk
  • pinch of nutmeg
1.) Separate eggs into two large bowls.
2.) Beat whites until frothy then add half of the powdered sugar and beat until stiff peaks are formed.
3.) Beat the yolks with the other half of the sugar and 1 Tbs of brandy or vanilla until light and lemon colored.
4.) Gently fold the beaten whites into the yolk mixture and refrigerate.
5.) In a large pot, heat the milk (but do not boil).
6.) To each mug add 2 Tbs (or more to taste) of brandy. Optional. Then add one heaping Tbs. of batter. Stir and fill with hot milk.
7.) Top with a sprinkle of nutmeg and serve.

Makes at least 6 heatlhy portions.

Note: Depending on my mood, sometimes I like it sweeter and add extra sugar to the batter. Make a "tester" for yourself and you decide!
