Grandma Ali’s Chili

 

2# ground beef or turkey

2 lg onions

2 15 oz cans red kidney beans, undrained

1 15 oz cans dark kidney beans, undrained

1 28 oz Italian style tomatoes (cut up), undrained

1 14 ½ oz can stewed tomatoes, undrained

2 4 oz cans diced green chilis, undrained

¼ cup chili powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp oregano

¼ tsp red pepper (optional)

1/8 pepper

salt to taste

 

Brown meat and onions, Drain fat. Stir in the rest of the ingredients (including all of the juices from the cans). Simmer uncovered about 1 ¼ hours or until desired consistency.

 

Makes 12 one cup servings
